An electroacoustic thesis statement in avante-garde performance, HARP+ redefines the harp by deconstructing sonic stereotypes. With performances by Grace Scheele, Arie van de Ven, and Dave Klassen and electronic interpretations of Luciano Berio’s Sequenza ii per arpa sola and John Cage’s Postcards from Heaven, HARP+ mixes composition and improvisation with a dash of electronic distortion thus shifting the lines between the familiar and unrecognizable.
