Featuring Thin Edge New Music Collective and the Kyle Brenders Quartet
The Kyle Brenders Quartet explores multiple musical worlds through composition and improvisation. Brenders’ works play with traditional and not so conventional musical cliches and tropes in exciting ways. The group strives to find spaces between idiomatic cracks using real time decisions to playfully interpret the written material.
Through Closed Doors is not only the namesake of TENMC’s concert program but also the title of a new work by Vancouver-based composer Anna Pidgorna for two violins and engraved antique door. Featuring a wide array of Canadian composers, emerging and established, this program also includes works by Anna Hostman, Ana Sokolovic and Brian Harman.
